The examination
NPCE certification examinations are developed, administered, and analyzed using industry standards and state-of-the-art expertise. Built by a board of examiners, the examination tests knowledge, critical thinking and relates to real on the job scenarios. Take time to prepare yourself by accessing the study guide and reviewing all of the topics that are covered.

School or employer sponsored examinations
If you are a student or employee of a partnered school or employer, please refer to the organization guidelines for taking the NPCE certification examination. Your instructor or employer will submit all your credentials to NPCE. After reviewing your paperwork, you will receive an email to access Canvas Instructure to access your study guide and take the proctored examination online. Refer to your employer or instructor on process to change your name or receive an additional copy of your certification if lost.

Are you a certified allied health professional looking to transfer your credentials across state lines or from a nationally recognized organization? Our Certification by Reciprocity program makes it simple to obtain recognition for your existing qualifications—without starting over.
What is Certification by Reciprocity?
Certification by Reciprocity allows currently certified professionals in eligible allied health fields to obtain certification through our organization based on their existing credentials. If you have completed a recognized training program and hold current certification or licensure in your field, you may be eligible to apply without re-taking a full training course or exam.
Who is Eligible?
You may qualify for Certification by Reciprocity if you:
Hold a valid, current certification or license in your allied health profession from another state or nationally recognized body. Have completed a formal training program from an accredited or approved institution. Are in good standing with no history of disciplinary action or revoked credentials. Are currently employed by one of our National Lab or Hospital partners.
Eligible allied health professions may include:
- Phlebotomy Technicians

- EKG Technicians
- Patient Care Technicians
- Medical Laboratory Technicians
